The new Block D of the Chinese Recreation Club, Hong Kong (CRCHK) was officially opened yesterday! Starting a new chapter for our main building, the upgraded Block D has become a landmark in Tai Hang. The fully upgraded, brand new facilities for sports, recreation and dining are here now, exemplifying our total commitment to providing even higher quality services for our members and our neighbourhood.

We were much honoured to have the Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Mr. Leung Chun-ying, joining our Chairman, Mr. Kenneth Lam, and Vice-Chairman, Mr. Edmund Ho, to officiate at yesterday’s inauguration ceremony. His presence was a valuable support for our promotion of sports development.

In his speech as our guest of honour, Mr. Leung hailed the completion of the new Block D as marking a new chapter in our Club’s history, serving as a new driving force to support Hong Kong’s sports development. He said sports have become an important activity in deepening the exchanges between Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. It is also a medium to “Tell the Good Stories of Hong Kong”. He firmly believes that the state-of-the-art Block D and its facilities will provide a new impetus for the Club to further promote sports and serve the community.

Club Chairman Mr. Lam said in his officiating speech that the new Block D is not merely an upgrade of hardware facilities but also an important milestone in the Club’s development. He said that the new Block D is equipped with a variety of advanced facilities that will better support the Club’s sports development, promote diversified sports and recreational activities and deepen our community connections. Block D has become an important platform for the Club to engage the community, foster social cohesion, and is a source of pride for all of us.

Following the speeches, the officiating guests, Mr. Leung, Mr. Lam and Mr. Ho jointly unveiled the foundation stone and participated in the roast pig-cutting ceremony to mark the official inauguration of Block D!

Looking to the future, the Club remains steadfast in our commitment to promoting a wide array of sports and recreational activities. With the support of our members and the community, we shall continue to advance together towards a richer and more vibrant chapter.
