09 Annual Report 2023 體育與康樂 SPORTS AND RECREATION 本會是香港其中一個最具規模，而且致力推廣網球運動的體育會。本會的年度焦點盛事「香港中華 游樂會全港網球公開賽」是中國香港網球總會 (網總) 認可的三大網球計分賽事之一。賽事於2023年 踏入第75屆，吸引接近1,600人次報名參賽，當中逾九成為非會員，共進行了1,013場比賽。本會透過 網上平台向市民及身處海外的球迷宣傳「香港中華游樂會全港網球公開賽」，並增加在社交媒體直播 比賽的次數，讓廣大網球愛好者透過互聯網為球手打氣。同時，本會自2018年為14歲或以下青少年 加設的組別賽事亦大受歡迎，希望這班新力軍成為明日網球之星。本會一直致力與網總合作，積極支持 本地網球「普及化」、「精英化」和「盛事化」的工作。在2023年，本會繼續借出場地予網總舉辦 賽事和活動，包括港青訓練及社區網球聯賽。此外，本會亦與香港元老網球總會合辦「香港國際超 壯年公開賽2023」。除積極推廣網球運動外，本會亦舉辦多元化的康體活動，如高爾夫球、乒乓球、 桌球、羽毛球、游泳、壁球和健身運動等。過去一年，本會舉辦了「會友士碌架冠軍賽」、「中游盃 高爾夫球錦標賽」、水運會等多項比賽，並每月舉行健身工作坊或講座。 CRC, one of the longest-established sports clubs in Hong Kong, primarily devotes its resources to the promotion of tennis. The CRC OPEN, the Club’s signature event, is one of the three major tennis tournaments in the city that are sanctioned by the Hong Kong, China Tennis Association (HKCTA) and award ranking points to players. The tournament celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2023 and attracted close to 1,600 entrants, nearly 90 percent of whom were non-members. A total of 1,013 matches were played. To enable people to support players virtually, the Club promoted the CRC OPEN to the general public and tennis fans overseas through online platforms and increased the number of matches being livestreamed on social media. The 14 or Under Junior Boys' and Girls' Singles categories, which were introduced in 2018, have been hugely popular, igniting hopes that these young players will become rising tennis stars for Hong Kong in the future. The HKCTA has been a key partner for CRC in the Club’s efforts to promote tennis throughout the community, support the development of elite players and grow the city's reputation as a centre for major sports events. In the year under review, CRC continued to provide courts to the HKCTA for National Training Squad training and organising league tournaments. The Club also partnered with the Hong Kong Veterans' Tennis Association to host the Hong Kong ITF Super Senior Tournament 2023. In addition to promoting tennis, the Club organised a diverse range of sporting events in 2023, including golf, table tennis, snooker, badminton, swimming, squash and fitness training. Last year, the Club hosted various competitions such as a snooker championship, golf tournament and swimming gala as well as monthly fitness workshops and seminars. 體育成就 SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS 本會自創會以來一直不遺餘力推動體育「普及化」、「精英化」和「盛事化」，並設立「精英球員 計劃」向具潛質的本地網球運動員提供訓練設施及代表本會出賽的實戰機會。本會多年來大力支持 青訓，致力發掘和培養明日網球新星，取得豐碩成果，締造一代又一代的網壇傳奇。大部份本會精英 球員都是香港隊成員，不但風靡本地網球壇，更經常代表香港出戰海外國際網球比賽，包括台維斯盃、 金夫人盃、東亞運動會、全國運動會、亞洲運動會及世界大學生運動會等，屢獲殊榮，為港爭光。 Since its founding, CRC has made great efforts to promote sports in the community, develop elite players and support the hosting of tennis tournaments.The Club also works to identify promising young players and invite them to join its “Elite Athlete Scheme”,which offers access to CRC facilities as well as opportunities to represent the Club in tournaments.Over the years,the Club has been building its junior training programme to discover and nurture the tennis stars of tomorrow, an effort that has yielded considerable results and helped create a bridge between tennis legends from different generations. Most CRC elite players are also Hong Kong Team members who are not only popular in the local tennis scene, but also frequently represent the city at overseas international tennis tournaments such as the Davis Cup, Billie Jean King Cup, East Asian Games, National Games of China, Asian Games and World University Games and frequently achieve extraordinary results.
